Eugene, OR- Balbino Fuenmayor changed the night at PK?Park with one swing of the bat.
Juan Marcano was cruising along, having only given up two hits, when Fuenmayor blasted a solo homer out to center field, putting Vancouver on top to stay, 2-1.???????????????????????????????????????
The Emeralds entered Tuesday night's game winners of seven straight. The Canadians didn't wait long to get on the scoreboard as leadoff man Jorge Flores ripped a double down the left field line. After a couple of groundouts drove him in Vancouver led 1-0.
The Ems came back in the bottom of the first with a one-out single from Corey Adamson who wound up 3-4 on the night. Adamson stole second and scored on a two-out single from Jeremy Baltz. The score would remain tied at one heading into the 6th inning.
Marcano was trying to get through six innings and keep the score tied at one when?Fuenmayor lifted a two-out homer over the wall in right center to give the Canadians a 2-1 lead. Marcano would wind up getting through his six innings of work, but ultimately was hung with the loss even though he pitched well.
Eugene had chances in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th but couldn't come through. The best opportunity came in the 7th when they loaded the bases for cleanup man Jeremy Baltz who grounded out to end the inning.
Vancouver added two more runs in the top of the 9th off reliever Matt Chabot. Ian Kadish came in to pitch for Vancouver and retired all six men he faced to pick up third save of the year.
